It is done, but not as sport. It is done for the pelt or fur in Canada.
it WAS true. now it is banned. it is such A TERRIBLE THING! i hate people who can hurt a cute little fluffy seal! Those people are going to hell, and they will burn. it is such a terrible thing. just horrible. i cried when i found out. i am an animal lover, i just can't understand how people can harm such beautiful creatures.

It's not a sport as far as I'm concerned, it's commercial hunting of fur seals. Canada still does it. So do some Scandinavian countries.
Yes. What wonderful sports we humans are capable of. Why don't they make a sport of beating rapists and murders to death? That would be more fun, and the ';victim'; would be deserving of it.
Yes. It's viewed as a 'Tourist Sport' in Norway. There is also the annual seal hunt in Canada. (see links)
