Technically, no. But people do fight bettas over in Thailand and the surrounding areas. Its not a sport in my mind. And its not exactly the best thing to do.Is It True That Fighting Bettas Is A Sport?
It is still a sport in some places but most of them are illegal. I don't know the laws of all countries and areas but I think it is illegal in the US. I hate that people use these beautiful fish like that. I want to force people to fight to the death and see if they like it! Grrr. If you know of this mistreatment then lease report it. Bettas lives depend on it!

Yeah I've heard that. Theres also Japenese fighting fish and that's a sport too.
