From personal experiences, Im not too sure your statment is correct. Sport plays a massive massive role in my life.
Men find sport before they find women, so the history is longer with sport.
After 30 years of marriage, 5 or 7 years doesn't make much difference.
The team was there before the gf, it will be there after the gf and so will alcohol.
No a sport should never come before the girlfriend/wife, that would be crazy.
