Is this true? ';rifle shooting remains the only Olympic sport without a single fatality';?

there are two instances when an Olympic athlete died during an Olympic competition. the first one was when Portugal's Francisco Lazaro died due to heat exhaustion during the 1912 marathon event in Stockholm, Sweden and another was when Danish cyclist Knud Jensen suddenly collapsed and died during an Olympic road race due to drug he took before the race in 1960 Rome Olympics.

as for rifle shooting, I believe that no fatality has been reported yet due to safety features being undertaken by International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF).Is this true? ';rifle shooting remains the only Olympic sport without a single fatality';?
I can't remember any time where anyone died in the Olympics due to an event. Of course there's the Munich incident and the Atlanta bombing. But as far as athletes dying of exertion or injury during an event, that's unheard of.

Now shooting sports has statistically been shown to be the safest sports out there. The rate of injuries in any shooting sport, gun or archery, is much less than in basketball or football. Simply because our sport are non contact and we practice safety above all else.Is this true? ';rifle shooting remains the only Olympic sport without a single fatality';?
I doubt that anyone has been killed in most Olympic sports.

However, rifle, pistol, and shotgun competition is very safe.
if it's true, it's sooo ironic!!!!!!!
that is crazy it can't be. but handball is outrageous.
Not sure if its true or not, but I love the irony :P
I doubt it. Then again those curlers can get pretty crazy with those brooms....
